More Than 300 Mississippi Leaders Have Endorsed Tate Reeves

February 27, 2019

Jackson — As the filing deadline for the 2019 governor’s race approaches, more than 300 Mississippi leaders have publicly signed on to endorse Lt. Governor Tate Reeves. This broad coalition of Trump campaign leaders, elected officials, and grassroots GOP leaders has come together to say that Tate Reeves is the choice of Mississippi’s conservative voters. Reeves has earned this historic support because of his record of fighting for lower taxes, better schools, and more jobs.

“One of the things a Governor does is have a really strong relationship with his Republican Lt. Governor. Tate Reeves and I have not only worked together for the last eight years but even before that when he was State Treasurer. I think he’ll do an excellent job as Governor and that is why I’m supporting Tate Reeves as the next Governor for the state of Mississippi,” said Governor Phil Bryant

“We’ve had a dedicated public servant at the state level, Tate Reeves, who has demonstrated not only his understanding of the needs of Mississippi but this Gulf Coast. Quite frankly, it doesn’t matter who else is in it: we’re backing Tate Reeves for governor of Mississippi,” said Mayor Billy Hewes, Gulfport, who previously faced Reeves in the 2011 Lieutenant Governor primary.

“President Trump needs us to support strong conservatives who will have his back at the state level. If you believe in the Make America Great Again agenda, we need your help to elect Tate Reeves here in Mississippi. He’s our guy,” said Rob Rall, Hinds County Trump Chair.

“Tate Reeves is a conservative fighter who will stand up for Mississippi values,” said Congressman Gregg Harper. “Tate grew up and raises his family here in Rankin County. He has a strong record of cutting taxes and getting government out of the way so Mississippi’s economy can grow. I strongly support him for Governor.”

“For me, it’s very simple. You stand with your friends. Lt. Governor Tate Reeves has, over and over again, demonstrated that he is very sensitive to the challenges for our citizens, our cities, and of course our state. He’s been there,” said Mayor Fofo Gilich, Biloxi

“If you have conservative values, and you want a leader who shares them and is willing to fight for them, there’s only one choice in this governor’s race: Tate Reeves,” said Faye Dillard, GOP Chair, Pontotoc County

“Tate Reeves has done great things for this state, and he’s going to make an excellent Governor. He’s fought for lower taxes, less spending, and better government. We’re proud to support him,” said Sheriff Steve Rushing, Lincoln County

“Democrats have gone crazy. We need leaders who will stand with our President to keep their radical agenda out of our state. No question—the man for the job is Tate Reeves,” said Ellen Jernigan, Desoto County Trump Chair.

“Tate Reeves is the only choice for Mississippians who care about sound, conservative policies. No other candidate comes close to his record of standing strong for everyday Mississippians” said Kathy Henry, former President of Mississippi Federation of Republican Women.

“Tate Reeves is one of us—a principled, passionate, and dependable conservative who families across Mississippi can trust to fight for our interests. We’ve got his back, because we know he has ours,” said Sue Bush, State Executive Committee, 4th Congressional District.
