TATE REEVES MAKES CAMPAIGN STOP IN TUPELO
April 10, 2019
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves touted conservative beliefs as he made a swing through Northeast Mississippi, the day after officially kicking off his campaign for Governor.
The Republican candidate made a stop Tuesday morning in Tupelo at “Papa V’s” Convenience store.
Reeves was greeted by hundreds of people, including supporters and candidates for various offices.
Reeves told the crowd that as governor he would continue supporting policies that lead to economic growth and he also promised to stand for traditional values.
“This race is not only about what we’re going to do, it’s what we’re willing to stop, the fact is when the national, liberal extremists come to Mississippi and try to change our values, and try to focus on what we believe in, I will stand up to them and say no, even when yes is easier and even when yes is the politically popular thing to do. I have proven I will say no,” said Reeves.
Reeves faces retired state Supreme Court Justice Bill Waller Junior and state Representative Robert Foster in the Republican primary August 6.
The general election is November 5.
