August 09, 2019
The race for Mississippi Governor is heating up! After the final tally for the Republican primary election was released, we’re heading to a runoff in three weeks with a showdown between conservative Tate Reeves and moderate Bill Waller Jr. With Reeves running on his strong conservative record, opposing costly policies that Waller and Democrat Jim Hood support like the gas tax, the Clarion Ledger predicts that Robert Foster’s voters will shift to Reeves or sit out of the runoff rather than back Waller. Winning over 70 counties with conservatives from every corner of Mississippi voting for him, Reeves is in a strong position going into the runoff.
