FORMER U.S. SECRETARY OF EDUCATION BENNETT, LT. GOV. REEVES TO ADDRESS HIGHER ED APPRECIATION DAY

JACKSON – Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves will host former U.S. Secretary of Education William Bennett at the annual Higher Education Appreciation awards luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Marriott Hotel, 200 East Amite St. in Jackson.

Media is invited to the speech and a press conference. Bennett, a radio host and political commentator, will join Reeves after the luncheon to talk with media in the Winston Room at the Marriott.

The event is part of the Higher Education Appreciation Day- Working for Academic Excellence, which was established by the Mississippi Legislature in 1987. Outstanding students and faculty from 34 Mississippi public and private universities and colleges will receive special recognition during the event.
